Mangaldai : Chandra Mohan Patowary , State Minister for Industries and Commerce , Transport etc and also the in-charge minister of Darrang , as the chief guest hoisted national tricolor in the 75th Independence Day celebration centrally organized by district administration here at the Kachari Maidan with Deputy Commissioner Prabhati Thousen and Superintendent of Police Sushanta Biswa Sarma being present along his sides.
Addressing the public chief guest Patowary gave a brief account on the different upcoming government projects in the district including the Rs 1000 crore Skill University which is third in the country, construction of the new National Highway Mangaldai bypass and an industrial park in Sipajhar among others. Chief Guest took the salute of the march past performed by the Assam Police jawans and contingents of other security agencies. MP,Mangaldai Loksabha Dilip Saikia , legislators from Mangaldai , Sipajhar and Dalgaon LACs Basanta Das , Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi and Mazibur Rahman respectively were also present as the special guests.
