United Arab Emirates, Dubai  – Muay Gym by Lara recently held an all-women training session by the French-Algerian professional kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter Anissa Meksen. The experience provided aspiring female martial artists with a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the world’s most powerful fighters. The session at the first all-female Muay Thai gym in Dubai included valuable techniques, insights, and inspiration from Meksen’s championship journey. She is widely considered one of the greatest female kickboxers of her generation and has achieved over 100 wins across kickboxing, Muay Thai, savate and boxing.

During the two-hour event, Anissa shared technical insights and led hands-on training sessions. After this, an interactive Q&A session was conducted where attendees gained a deeper understanding of the training methods and mindset behind her championship success. She focused heavily on fight intelligence, timing and demonstrated how elite fighters use a combination of speed, rhythm and relentless precision to win.

“Muay Thai has taught me discipline, respect, and self-confidence, and those lessons have shaped every part of my journey. The sport has given me so much, so it’s important for me to give back whenever I can. Being a world champion is not only about winning titles, but also about helping others believe in themselves,” said Anissa Mesken. “If sharing my experience motivates young athletes and women to start their own Muay Thai journey and discover what they’re capable of, that’s something I’ll always be proud of. Visiting the Muay Gym community was such a special experience, and seeing so many women come together with a passion to learn and grow was truly inspiring.”

Mesken started training at the age of 12 and turned professional during her teenage years, going on to win multiple titles. Her career wins include prominent world titles in GLORY Kickboxing, ISKA, and WBC Muay Thai. Renowned for her flawless technique, speed, and fight intelligence, she remains a pioneering global icon for women in combat sports.

“The response from our community was incredible. From the moment Anissa walked through our doors, we could feel the excitement in the room. Beyond being a world champion, she was so open, generous with her knowledge, and genuinely connected with everyone she met,” said Lara Fawzy, Founder of Muay Gym by Lara. “Training alongside someone of Anissa’s caliber was an honor for our members. This is exactly what we want Muay Gym by Lara to be, a space where women train in a supportive, judgment-free environment and grow with confidence.”

This collaboration was years in the making. It was rooted in Lara’s own training background in Phuket, where she first connected with and trained under Meksen at Phuket Fight Club. Throughout the years, their relationship has evolved into Lara Active, Fawzy’s activewear brand, which Mesken has worn during competitions. Mesken wore the Lara Active logo on her shorts during a winning fight and championed the brand at the press conference for that camp.

With one of Muay Gym by Lara’s rising teen students training directly alongside a world champion, this long-awaited seminar marks a proud and defining moment for the gym’s broader mission in the region. The event further reinforces the gym’s positioning as a regional hub for world-class standards in women’s combat sports. The session closed with a photo opportunity, where participants could meet and celebrate the champion.

Looking ahead, Muay Gym by Lara plans to continue welcoming world-class athletes and elite fight minds, giving its community sustained access to top-tier expertise. Multiple projects and collaborations are in the works, and members can look forward to more training opportunities alongside global champions in the future.
