Music Legend SPB A Memory; Prez, VP, PM condole

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal purohit and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy have condoled the demise of music legend SP Balasubrahmanyam.  

President Kovind said, Indian music has lost one of its most melodious voices who was also called as Paadum Nila or the Singing Moon by his fans.

Condoling the singer’s passing away, Vice President Naidu said, it is truly an irreparable loss to the world of music and a personal emotional moment . Mr Naidu said,   SPB or Balu as he was fondly called by his innumerable admirers came from Nellore, his native place. The Vice President said he heard his rapturous melodies, his passionate love for his mother tongue and the extraordinary manner in which he groomed a whole generation of talented, young musicians.

Expressing grief on the demise of noted musician and vocalist S P Balasubrahmanyam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the loss has made the cultural world of the country a lot poorer. Mr. Modi remembered the singer as a household name across India whose melodious voice and music enthralled audiences for decades. He expressed condolences to the family and admirers of the musician who was also a recipient of Padma Bhushan.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal purohit has expressed deepest condolences over the demise of the renowned playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. In a message, the Governor has said, the singer’s demise is an irreparable loss for the people of India, particularly to all the music lovers across the globe. He said, though Balasubrahmanyam has passed away, his melodious voice and eternal music compositions will ever remain.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has said SP Balasubrahmanyam has been a gift from God for the musical world of the 20th century.

The AIADMK coordinator and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam has said he had been a legend in Indian musical arena.

The opposition DMK president MK Stalin has said the times of Covid-19 have mercilessly snatched away the wonderful artist from the world. The party general secretary Duraimurugan has said the ocean of music that was SP Balasubrahmanyam, has stopped its rhythmic waves.

TN BJP president Dr L Murugan has said the legendary singer has fascinated millions of people from across the country by transcending linguistic barriers. He has said the magical voice that balms the minds of the listeners will be missed.

TNCC chief KS Alagiri has expressed condolences over his demise saying he reigned in the hearts of thousands of music lovers.
