Dimapur: Altogether 34 Covid-19 positive cases were detected today. The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 5,263.
In his routine briefing, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said of the 34 new cases, 31 are in Dimapur, one in Kohima and two in Mon.
He said out of the 5,263 positive cases, 3,968 persons have recovered and the active cases are 1,261. There have been 10 deaths due to the virus. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,252 active cases are asymptomatic, seven active cases are mild and two active cases are moderate.
Of the 5,263 positive cases, 2,481 are of the armed forces/ police, 1,418 returnees, 320 frontline workers and 1,044 traced contacts.
Sinha said a total of 45,353 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 44,729 samples have been received. Besides, 25,731 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 25,714 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,188 samples have been tested.
He added that altogether 637 persons are presently under facility quarantine.
