Nagindas Sanghvi passes away at 100

Veteran Gujarati journalist, columnist, writer and political analyst Nagindas Sanghvi passed away in Surat yesterday. He was 100 and suffering from acute asthma. Mr. Sangvi was conferred Padma Shri award in the year 2019. He was in teaching at Bhavan’s College Andheri from 1951 to 1980. Later he moved to Ruparel College, Mahim and Mithibai College, Vile Parle for teaching political science. He had written many books on Mahatma Gandhi, Gujarat and other subjects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the demise of Sanghvi. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, his articles and books gave an understanding of history and philosophy and he had an extraordinary ability to analyze political events. The Prime Minister expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the readers.  

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has also expressed deep grief and sorrow at the demise of the veteran journalist. He said Gujarat journalism and literature has suffered big loss following the demise of Sanghvi.
