Haflong : An 11- day long National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Haflong Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) was flagged in by Brigadier Parimal Pant at
Haflong on Tuesday.
The tour which composed of 20 girl students from Dima Hasao visited places of national, historical and tourist attraction at Bangalore and Mysore.
The significant highlight of the tour was interaction with the Governors of Karnataka and Assam. Another high point of the tour was visit to Indus School of Leadership where the girls were exposed to Indus Leadership Curriculum. This included negotiating a 40 feet zipline and other obstacles which tested their individual endurance, competitive spirit and teamwork.
The children also visited the Parachute Regiment Training Centre and Madras Engineer Group both located in Bangalore.
Brigadier Parimal Pant, DIG 22 Sector Assam Rifles congratulated the girls on successful completion of the tour and urged them to apply the exposure gained towards making positive contribution to the society and the nation at large.
