New cow rearing policy after talks with organizations and sant samaj engaged in gau-seva: CM Chouhan
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that a new policy will be formulated in Madhya Pradesh after holding discussions with representatives of all prominent social organizations and institutions and Sant Samaj engaged in gau-seva. The Salaria cow sanctuary will be developed as a model. Chief Minister Chouhan held talks with representatives of various institutions and the Sant Samaj in the Salaria cow sanctuary of Agar-Malwa district and sought their suggestions.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that a cow tourism policy will be made to serve the sacred cow and to connect today’s new generation to it. Chief Minister Chouhan presented a proposal before the Sant Samaj and representatives of organizations from different parts of the country present in the meeting that voluntary organizations should come forward to run various gaushalas established in Madhya Pradesh. He said that on the auspicious occasion of Gopashtami today, a feeling has come from within that a policy regarding gau-seva should be made in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that today a consolidated policy for gau-seva has been started in Madhya Pradesh. Instead of gaushalas being run by the government alone, it would be better to connect various voluntary organizations who have faith, dedication and reverence in this work to it. After the discussion Chief Minister Chouhan said that soon a virtual meeting will be organized with all institutions in this connection through video conferencing, so that suggestions from everyone on a massive scale. Based on this, a new cow policy will be formulated in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that pesticides made from gau-mutra can free us from poisonous chemicals, whereas gaukasht and other products are more in vogue today. He informed about the decisions taken in the gau-cabinet meeting held in the morning today to the sant samaj. Chief Minister Chouhan said that we have a proposal to keep voluntary organizations in the forefront for the operation of gaushalas and to obtain minimum amount in the form of gau-grass for better resources in these gaushalas. He said that we will not depend on gau-grass alone. Assistance of Panch Parmeshwar and schemes of other related departments will also be taken for the operation and construction of new gaushalas.
CM’s proposal welcomed unanimously
All those present in the seminar lauded and welcomed the proposal of running gaushalas to interested voluntary organizations. All sections were of the opinion that this will not only lead to better functioning of the gaushalas but will also enhance public participation and public support. A detailed discussion was also held related to Salaria cow sanctuary and those present emphasized on making this gaushala self-sufficient. It was said during the meeting that an action plan should also be chalked out to preserve cows of local breeds. Reasonable price must be ensured for cow products. The Sant Samaj from Gujarat said that there is need to promote gau-seva tourism also. Efforts must be made to ensure that the new generation also connects to the service of Gau Mata.
Research Center in Salaria
Chief Minister Chouhan instructed the Vice Chancellor of Nanaji Deshmukh University to set up a research centre in connection with Gau Mata in Salaria. He said that a training centre for operation of gaushalas should also be built here. Efforts to set up a National Service Scheme camp also should be made here. Arrangement of Dhyan yoga should also be made here. Efforts must also be made to ensure that this sanctuary sets an example of self-sufficiency. In the meeting, Regional MLA Rana Vikram Singh said that the credit of the Salaria cow sanctuary goes to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It has given recognition to Salaria.
