No shortage of vaccine in the country, says Union Health Minister

NEW DELHI : Amid rising corona cases in the country, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan held a meeting with health ministers of 11 states and Union Territories through video conferencing. He appealed to the citizens of the country that the biggest weapon in the fight against the corona epidemic is available to you yourself. That weapon is to follow the guidelines of corona. During the meeting, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that 14.15 crore doses of vaccine have been supplied to the states till this morning in the country. All the states have used about 12.57 crore 18 thousand vaccine doses. At present, states have 1.58 crore doses and 11.6 million 84 thousand doses of vaccine inside the supply. There is no shortage of vaccine.

In a meeting with health ministers of 11 states on corona virus through video conferencing, the Union Health Minister said that at present states have 15.8 crore doses and 1,16,84,000 doses of vaccine inside supply. There is no shortage of vaccine. The Ministry informed that a total of 66,689 Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs) are operational. As per the report, the number of covid-19 vaccines given in the country is 119787239. These include 9104680 health workers who have been given the first dose of vaccine and 5669734 health workers who have been given the second dose. In addition, there are 10658497 frontline employees who have been given first dose while 52,94,889 are frontline employees who have been given second dose. The Central Government informed that in view of the active growth in cases observed since last February, most of the States have now crossed their highest level in new cases of corona. In the meeting of health ministers, Dr Harsh Vardhan has exhorted states to plan corona hospitals, increase oxygenated beds and other relevant infrastructure.
