Bhuvaneswar: In Odisha, with the death of 15 COVID patients reported in the last twenty four hours, the total number of persons succumbing to the infection has risen to 1006. On the other hand, more people are recovering from the infection daily, in comparison to the fresh infections.
While the covid-19 caseload of the state is about to hit the 2.5 lakh mark, the incremental recovery has made the active caseload climb down to about 28 thousand, as of now. While the daily positive cases continue to be on the higher side of two thousand, the corresponding recovery too has been surging ahead, as is evident from the fresh discharge of as many as 3404 persons from hospitals. Even the two hotspot districts of Khordha and Cuttack have also been reporting fewer cases now, bringing in the much needed relief to the state as it struggles to stamp the virus down.
