On Indo-Bangla border NLFT militants attack BSF, 2 jawans martyred, 5 injured

GUWAHATI : In Tripura, two BSF jawans were killed and 5 BSF jawans injured near indo-Bangladesh international border. NlFT terrorists looted more than 12 sophisticated BSF weapons and fled. Bsf jawans on patrol on Tuesday were ambushed by militants of militant outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) in which two BSF jawans were killed and 5 BSF jawans injured. Bsf said, the militants ambushed the state’s Dhalai district around 6.30 am and a BSF sub-inspector was among the martyred personnel.

Security forces were ambushed near RC Nath border post under Chavmanu police station area in Panisagar sector of the district, to which security forces responded in a befitting manner. Dhalai district is about 94 km from Agartala, the capital of the state, and is bordering Bangladesh in the northern and southern parts. Out of the total 4,096 km long Indo-Bangladesh border, Tripura shares an area of 856 km. A BSF spokesperson said, “Sub Inspector Bhuru Singh and Constable Rajkumar were seriously injured during the fierce encounter and later died. He said the militants reportedly sustained some injuries as per blood samples available at the spot. He said that both our jawans fought bravely before they were martyred. The spokesperson said that a search operation has been launched in the area to nab the militants. The official said the militants also took away the weapons of the martyred jawans. Senior bsf and police officials have left for the spot, 150 km north of Agartala.
