One crore cash award and jobs as additional superintendent of police for Olympic medal winner Mirabai

GUWAHATI : India’s Mirabai Chanu created history by winning a silver medal on the first day of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Now, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has assured Chanu of one crore cash and additional superintendent of police jobs. Mirabai Chanu has won a silver medal in the women’s 49 kg category in weightlifting. In fact, after Mirachani’s victory, people from all over the country congratulated him. From the Prime Minister to the President, he congratulated him on his victory and described it as a proud moment.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has now assured Mirabai Chanu that the government will give her a job as superintendent of police as a thank you on her return to India.Mirabai Chanu works as a ticket checking inspector in the Railways. Talking to Mirabai Chanu through video conferencing the previous day, the Chief Minister said, “Now you don’t have to do ticket checking inspectors in the Railways. You will be given a suitable Additional Superintendent of Police” While Chanu thanked the Chief Minister for this. Chief Minister Biren also said, “1 crore has been set aside for you.

 This will be given to you on arrival at Imphal. In addition, prominent citizens including other government departments and politicians have started announcing cash awards for Chanu. Earlier in the day, Education Minister S Rajen announced rs 3 lakh to Chanu. Chanu thanked the people, including the Chief Minister, for their support and said that she would return home and meet everyone.
