Over 500 children receive Free treatment at ASG Eye Hospital & Vasan Eye Care for eye injuries during Diwali
Bengaluru: ASG Eye Hospital’s Free Eye Trauma Care Initiative saw over 500 people, mostly children receive free treatment. The campaign, held from October 15 to 24, during Diwali, was aimed at ensuring that no child faced barriers to emergency care during the festive season.
Doctors across the ASG Eye Hospital and Vasan Eye Care network assess and treat a wide range of eye trauma cases — from minor burns and corneal abrasions to complex injuries that required immediate medical or surgical intervention. In many cases, timely treatment helped save or restore vision. Some injuries were serious, emphasizing the serious risks posed by high-intensity firecrackers, reinforcing the need for greater awareness and caution during celebrations.
Dr. Vikas Jain, Group COO, ASG Eye Hospital said, “Our teams worked tirelessly to ensure that each child received immediate quality care. We were able to save sight of the children due to prompt intervention and able to help children who would otherwise not have been able to afford treatment for their eye injuries.”
ASG Eye Hospital and Vasan Eye Care reiterated their mission to make quality ophthalmic care accessible across India, and to continue conducting awareness drives that promote safe celebrations and preventive eye health.
