Kolkata: The Heritage School, Kolkata, organized Parenting session for classes VI to XII which was addressed by Shri Siddharth Jain, renowned philosopher and a life coach from Vedanta Academy. Shri Jain spoke on the topic’ Raising Resilient Children’ and during his address he stressed on the act that the parents should encourage the children to enhance their intellectual mindset for the betterment of their future.

“It is intellect not intelligence that matters and the intellectual mindset of the children starts developing from the age of 8 years,” said Shri Jain during his address at the Parenting session.

Moreover parents should lead their children by setting their own examples. “Parents don’t get aware of their child’s intellectual growth. They try to dictate and this makes the child more rebellious,” Shri  Jain.

Also he advised the parents about the negative influence of mobile phones in today’s digital world.

The parents had various queries which were answered by Shri Siddharth Jain giving emphasis on the fact that it is the duty of the parents to help in the enhancement of the intellectual mindset of the children. “You should make them think and question. You should help them to analyze. Marks are not important, it is the way you prepare your child for life which matters the most,’ said Shri Jain during his address.

The session was also contributed by a few parents who helped other parents to know  how to be successful in raising their children and in what ways the parents should tackle the difficulties they face during this journey.

“At The Heritage School, we frequently conduct such sessions where parents share their views and experts are also invited as speakers. It is very important to make the parents aware of the ways by which parents can raise their child for facing the future challenges in their lives. That is where the real education comes in to prepare the child for life,” said Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Kolkata.
