GUWAHATI : Ripun Bora has resigned as the President of Assam Congress. Ripon Bora resigned as Assam Congress chief after the party’s dismal performance in the assembly elections in the state. Ripon Bora resigned as Assam Congress president saying he takes responsibility for the party’s defeat in the assembly elections.
Ripon Bora submits his resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. In his resignation letter, Ripon Bora said, “I resign as the President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee due to responsibility for my party’s humiliating defeat in the Assam Assembly elections 2021. Ripon Bora further said, “The BJP and the RSS were unable to counter divisive and communal politics.
