PLASTINDIA 2026 CONCLUDES WITH STRONG BUSINESS OUTCOMES, SHOWCASING INDIA’S GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH
New Delhi: The six-day PlastIndia 2026, India’s largest international plastics exhibition, concluded in New Delhi , witnessing large scale , multi-crore business engagements and reinforcing India’s growing stature as a global hub for plastics manufacturing, innovation and sustainability
Organised by the Plastindia Foundation, PLASTINDIA 2026 marked a major milestone as India’s first-ever 100% Zero-Waste plastics exhibition. The event hosted over 2,000 exhibitors and attracted more than six lakh business footfalls from India and across the world, with participation from over 80 countries.
The exhibition highlighted the scale, technological strength and global competitiveness of the Indian plastics industry, underlining India’s expanding industrial capability and relevance in global value chains.
“Plastindia 2026 featured high-impact initiatives aimed at strengthening policy dialogue, global trade and sustainability,” said Mr Ravish Kamath, President, Plastindia Foundation. “These included a global CEO Conclave bringing together industry leaders and policymakers, and a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) that enabled structured interactions between Indian exhibitors and international buyers, facilitating exports and long-term business partnerships.”
He added that the growth of the Indian plastics industry is being driven by infrastructure development and rising demand across packaging, automotive, construction, electronics and healthcare sectors.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Mrs Rekha Gupta and was visited by several dignitaries, including Mr Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry; Mr Chirag Paswan, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries; and Ms Nivedita Shukla Verma, Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, along with senior diplomats and officials.
Emphasising sustainability, Mr Alok Tibrewala, Chairman, National Executive Committee, PLASTINDIA 2026, said, “What set Plastindia 2026 apart was its firm commitment to being a Zero-Waste exhibition, inspired by the Swachh Bharat Mission. Circular economy practices, large-scale recycling and sustainability-driven operations were implemented across the venue.”
He also highlighted key first-of-its-kind initiatives, including a 20,000 sq. ft. Open Air Museum showcasing the responsible role of plastics, and a Bharat Next Startup Search Initiative, in collaboration with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, where 10 shortlisted start-ups received cash awards of Rs 2 lakh each along with complimentary exhibition booths.
PLASTINDIA 2026 concluded as one of the largest and most forward-looking exhibitions hosted at Bharat Mandapam, combining scale, sustainability and innovation in a world-class industry platform, adhering to its commitment of Zero Waste Exhibition.
