Jorhat: Pre Christmas was organized at the Borbheta Baptist Church jointly by United Christian Forum which is functioning since over two decades as an umbrella forum of all churches and Christian institutes from the district of Jorhat.
Various guest from Jorhat town and office bearers and individuals from the United Christian Forum (UCF) representing the Christian community participated in the program with their attractive items to observe Christmas.. Mr Amiyo Barua, president of UCF offered the Christmas greetings and expressed hope that all citizens live in peace and harmony sharing the brotherly love taught by Jesus Christ. Rev Sarat Sharma, adviser to UCF, Jorhat offered special prayer for world peace. Christian priest from the churches of Jorhat offered prayer for peace to all read the holyscripture to bless those present. The YMCA School of Music and few others gave attractive presentation of musical and action songs.
Few individuals were specially felicitated in the event for their significant contribution :– care of destitute, health care, quality education and many ways to the society. Those felicitated were Sister Cherubim, MC, Sister Superior, Mother Teresa Missionary of Charity, Sister Monica AC, principal Carmel School, Dr. Senorita Sanghma Singh, Medical Superintendent, Jorhat Christian Medical Centre, Fr Regimani, SDB, Principal, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Baghchung, Jorhat for their exemplenary and note worthy service and leadership to build the new generation in their institutions.
Earlier the welcome address was delivered by Dr Manchand and Dr. Sajib Barua, offer the vote of Thanks which was attended by over several hundreds of people the chairman of Forum and president of YMCA, Jorhat Branch here today.
The four prominent personalities felicitated were-Sister Monica-Principal Carmel School, Jorhat, Dr. Senorita-senior superior from Missionaries of Charity, Father Regimani, Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Baghchung, Jorhat and at a glittering pre Christmas celebration program that was held to welcome the Christmas where hundreds of members from YMCA, United Christian Forum, Jorhat Christian Medical College, Christian Schools of Nursing among students from Eastern Theological College were present during the program.
