Jorhat : After strict instruction from the State Chief Election Officer, the district administration with the rest of its government machineries are trying to leave no stone to follow the election code of conduct soon after the announcement of the dates Lok Sabha poll for various phases that has been fixed by the election commission, whereas the sitting and opposition parties are trying to pinpoint each other issues related to poll is concern, said sources from the district election office here today.
Sources said, as days have been past, the consciousness of voter is gaining momentum but in villages, border and tea belt areas the situation seems to be same as before as because the number of middlemen and agents or so called dallals are on the rise due to tropical and sub-tropical causes which will say as time comes, said Dulan Natak, a tea labour activist from Mariani here today.
Moreover 185 Polling officials including EVM technical officers had started day long training programs at various districts and block levels and were given with minimum knowledge over the functioning of the EVMs for the district of Jorhat, Majuli, Dergaon, at the DC’s conference hall that was kicked off since early morning, said Jayanta Goswami, an administrative officer of Jorhat here today.
Earlier teams from the district election office removed over 100s of hoardings related to government advertisement, their achievements and hoardings written with big letters in supporting government yeoman services, party flags that was fixed at various public places all throughout the city of Jorhat was removed by officials, said Amulya Kalita, an employee from the Election Office.
