GUWAHATI : Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also held a rally in Assam on Monday. In Golaghat, Priyanka Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi and BJP have given poverty and misery to the people of Assam in the 5-year rule. Quoting Niti Aayog’s report, Priyanka said poverty has increased in Assam. He accused Assam Prime Minister Modi and BJP of factionalism.
He said there are two BJP factions and both have cheated the people. Amidst the ongoing electoral arena in five states, Congress general secretary and star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held a special interview with the state. On the questions being raised by the Congress, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the Congress party is an idea, only the Gandhi family does not matter. The Congress is a mindset that has worked to advance the country. Priyanka Gandhi said that the Congress party is fighting a vigorous battle in Assam, the BJP in Assam is hurting her identity.
In the last 5 years, there has been an attempt to suppress the identity of Assam, we are fighting the people of Assam. Priyanka Gandhi said that the promises made by the BJP five years ago were relied upon by the people, but what happened to those promises. Now, the people of Assam have seen the BJP, when there was a flood in Assam, no BJP leader was here, when the CAA came, nobody listened to the voice of the people of Assam. Hitting out at the BJP government, the Congress leader said that BJP is doing the biggest politics in the state, whenever elections come, they make promises but the rest of the five years do nothing.
