Provide necessary help at flood relief camps – Assam CM to district Administrations

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that instruction has been given to district administrations to provide necessary help at flood relief camps. 

CM said that the Assam government is monitoring the flood situation round the clock. Mr. Sonowal said that NDRF and SDRF teams are extending support in affected areas. 

He said that the landslide has become another problem and for that vulnerable areas are being identified. Nearly 6 lakh people are affected due to floods in the state.

There is no respite from flood fury in the State as several major rivers including the Brahmaputra are in spate. NDRF and SDRF teams are extending support in relief and rescue measures to district administrations. 

Nearly 6 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in the state.  Road communication is badly disrupted at many places. Surging water also damaged at least 56,000 hectare crop areas. Over 20,000 people had to leave their homes and have been shifted to relief camps. Apart from floods, landslides have also been reported in many areas including Guwahati city.
