Chennai : As India’s renewable energy sector enters a defining decade of scale, resilience, and self-reliance, RenewX 2026, the 10th edition of South India’s largest renewable energy sourcing expo, will return to Chennai from April 27–29, 2026 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Organised by Informa Markets in India, the milestone edition will be held under the theme ‘A Decade of Impact – A Future of Abundance.’
Positioned as South India’s most influential renewable energy sourcing and market access platform, RenewX 2026 will bring together over 200 leading brands and more than 8,000 industry stakeholders, including manufacturers, developers, EPC players, policymakers, utilities, investors, and large energy consumers. The exhibition is designed to accelerate business, partnerships, and technology adoption across one of India’s fastest-growing clean energy markets.
With the country targeting 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, India today stands among the world’s leading renewable energy markets—ranked 3rd globally in renewable energy installed capacity, 4th in wind, and 3rd in solar power. Solar energy has witnessed particularly strong momentum, growing more than 50-fold over the last decade to reach 143.60 GW as of February 2026. This accelerated growth is being driven by stronger domestic manufacturing, investments in grid modernisation, and the integration of energy storage—key themes that will shape discussions and showcases at RenewX 2026.
A Strategic Marketplace for the Renewable Energy Value Chain
RenewX 2026 is curated as a comprehensive industry marketplace spanning the entire renewable energy value chain—from solar modules, inverters, and balance-of-system components to energy storage solutions, grid infrastructure, bioenergy, and next-generation clean technologies. The platform reflects the sector’s evolving shift toward decentralised generation, integrated energy solutions, and manufacturing self-reliance.
The exhibition floor will feature 200+ top brands, including Waaree Energies, Vikram Solar, Emmvee, Gautam Solar, Goldi Solar, Swelect Energy Systems, Feston, and Premier Energies. Many exhibitors have been long-standing participants, with Premier Energies present across all ten editions—underscoring the industry’s sustained trust and commitment in the RenewX platform.
Adding to the experience, RenewX 2026 will host Solar IPL, an engaging on-ground initiative designed to spotlight innovation and foster industry engagement, alongside a dedicated Bio Energy Pavilion showcasing advanced solutions across biogas, bio‑hydrogen, and waste‑to‑energy technologies.
Commenting on the upcoming edition, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said: “India’s renewable energy sector is entering a decisive decade defined by scale, innovation, and self-reliance. Over the last decade alone, India’s solar capacity has grown more than 50-fold, underscoring the speed at which the renewable energy ecosystem is evolving.
RenewX 2026 reflects this momentum. As the show marks ten years of impact, it brings together the complete renewable energy value chain—from manufacturing and supply to deployment, storage, grid integration, and from policy to partnerships.” He added, “South India continues to emerge as a powerhouse of renewable energy demand and production, RenewX serves as a catalyst for accelerating investments, enabling technology adoption, and strengthening India’s leadership in the global energy transition.”
Policy, Partnerships and Industry Alignment
RenewX 2026 will see strong participation from government bodies, industry associations, and global stakeholders, reinforcing its role as a key industry convergence platform. Supporting organisations include the Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Developers Association, Kerala Renewable Energy Entrepreneurs and Promoters Association, Karnataka Renewable Energy System Manufacturer Association, Telangana Solar Energy Association, and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
The three-day conference, featuring 50+ distinguished speakers, will address themes such as global trade opportunities for Indian suppliers, the evolution of India’s renewable manufacturing ecosystem, energy storage integration, and emerging clean energy innovations. Key sessions include Global Alliances: Unlocking Opportunities for Indian Suppliers in International Trade, India’s Renewable Supply Chain: From Dependency to Resilience, Energy Storage Opportunities in India, and Beyond Li-ion: Building Long-Duration Storage Pathways.
A specialised masterclass by the Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) will focus on scaling rooftop solar and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), while a dedicated Bioenergy Day, supported by the Indian Biogas Association, will spotlight innovations across biogas and bio-hydrogen.
Tamil Nadu: Leading from the Front
Hosting RenewX for the second consecutive year, Chennai represents the convergence of progressive policy, industrial capability, and infrastructure readiness. Tamil Nadu continues to lead India’s renewable energy transition, with approximately 11,830 MW of installed wind capacity—nearly 23% of the national total—and over 10,000 MW of solar capacity. Renewable energy accounts for nearly 58.6% of the state’s total installed power capacity, positioning Tamil Nadu among India’s most advanced clean energy markets.
Driving the Next Phase of India’s Energy Transition
Marking a decade of impact, RenewX 2026 stands at the intersection of ambition and execution—where policy vision meets market demand and industrial capability. As India accelerates toward its long-term clean energy goals, the show will continue to play a pivotal role in forging partnerships, showcasing innovation, and enabling the next phase of renewable energy growth from South India.
