Mumbai: In Maharashtra, hoteliers, restaurant and bar owners across the state heaved a sigh of relief, as almost after 6 and a half months the operations resumed today. The COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by Maharashtra Government for restaurants and other eateries has allowed operations at 50 per cent of their seating capacity.

As per the guidelines, customers would be screened at the entry point for coronavirus symptoms such as high temperature, cough, and cold. Only asymptomatic customers will be allowed inside.

As per the Unlock 5.0 declaration, restaurants, bars, and food courts in Maharashtra have opened up today. Being the first day people too are somewhat averse in thronging the restaurants. However, opening of the restaurants has certainly provided a massive sigh of relief to people, mostly working class who are mostly dependent on them.

In Mumbai, 33 per cent occupancy inside hotels and restaurants have been allowed. Whereas, in the rest of the state 50 seating capacity is permitted.

Right at the entrance of the hotels foot dispenser sanitisers are being installed. Temperatures of the patrons are checked and only then they are given access.

Meanwhile, the hotel owners are facing shortage of manpower as many of their employees are yet to return from their hometowns.
