Ahead of Bihar Assembly elections Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today expelled its three MLAs for six years due to their involvement in anti-party activities.The expelled leaders are Gaighat MLA Maheshwar Prasad Yadav, Patepur MLA Prema Chaudhary and Keoti MLA Faraz Fatmi.
Party general secretary Alok Mehta said the MLAs have been expelled on the direction of party’s national president Lalu Prasad. The MLAs had been under the scanner for praising Nitish Kumar-led government in the state for quite some time. Assembly elections in Bihar are due in October-November and the tenure of the current Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29.
Meanwhile, in another political development, JD (U) expelled Industry Minister Shyam Rajak from the party due to his anti-party activities. State Party President Vashistha Narayan Singh said Rajak was involved in anti-party activities. Sources said Shyam Rajak is likely to join RJD.
