Chennai: Sian, the contemporary Chinese cuisine restaurant at Vivanta Chennai, IT Expressway has long been the city’s favourite destination for Oriental flavours. Executive Chef Saratchandra Banerji, who recently joined the team, has worked closely with the masterchef to curate a fresh new menu inspired by the rich culinary traditions of China’s Sichuan and Cantonese regions. Known for their bold and vibrant tastes, the new menu at Sian combines traditional techniques with luxurious ingredients, offering an unforgettable dining experience.

Saratchandra Banerji comes with over 20 years of experience, particularly with the Taj Group of Hotels. Renowned for his culinary expertise and leadership in the kitchen, he has consistently delivered exceptional dining experiences for a distinguished clientele, including dignitaries, celebrities and business leaders. He has the expertise in a wide range of cuisines including Indian, North Indian, Kerala, Chinese and Continental.

The refreshed menu at Sian features a selection of premium seafood including lobster, octopus, scampi, squid, sea prawns, seabass, grouper and red snapper, where each dish is about fresh and sustainable ingredients.  The masterchefs have curated an extensive array of dim sums and noodles, catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates.

A unique aspect of Sian’s dining experience is the customization of spice levels, allowing guests to tailor the heat level of their dishes to their preferences. The servers are trained to guide diners through the spice level options, ensuring a personalized dining experience.

To complement the bold flavours of the cuisine, Sian’s mixologists have crafted a range of innovative cocktails infused with Szechwan-inspired ingredients such as Szechwan pepper and chili oil. These beverages are the perfect pairing for the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Set against an elegant backdrop that combines modern design with traditional Chinese elements, Sian offers an inviting atmosphere for the guests.
