Sikkim CM Congratulates PM Modi on Historic Milestone at NDA Meeting

New Delhi : Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and congratulated him on becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India’s democratic history.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Modi for surpassing the record of 4,398 days in office previously held by Jawaharlal Nehru. He described the achievement as a reflection of the people’s unwavering trust in the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership, commitment, and dedicated service to the nation.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s transformative vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, expressing confidence that the collective aspirations of Indians for a developed nation would be realised under his leadership.

Making special mention of the Northeast, he conveyed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s steadfast commitment to the region. He noted that under Modi’s leadership, the Northeast has witnessed unprecedented development and emerged as a hub of opportunity and progress. Referring to the Prime Minister’s recognition of the region as “Ashta Lakshmi,” he said the initiative had enhanced the Northeast’s significance in India’s growth story.

The Chief Minister further recalled Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Sikkim during the State’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, describing it as a moment of immense pride for the people of the State.

He also highlighted the growth of the NDA under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting that the alliance has expanded from 25 constituent parties during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to 39 parties today, united by the principles of trust, mutual respect, and collective development.

On behalf of the people of Sikkim, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Modi, praying for his good health, long life, and continued strength as he leads India towards becoming a developed nation and a Vishwaguru.
