New Delhi: Sir Orrick’s Irish Whiskey, brought to India by Mehra Wines Pvt. Ltd., marked its arrival in the country with the opening of The Knight’s Club at Arts Room, Eldeco Centre, Delhi on 25 September 2026. Conceived as a world hidden in plain sight, the exclusive evening introduced guests to the brand through Irish traditions, whiskey-led experiences, curious rituals and the enigmatic character of Sir Orrick, the Knight of the Barrels.
THE WHISKEY BEHIND THE KNIGHT
Sir Orrick’s Irish Whiskey is a premium triple distilled Irish whiskey, crafted in Ireland and matured in carefully selected barrels before being finished in bourbon and sherry casks. The triple distillation follows an established Irish whiskey-making tradition, while the maturation and finishing process allows the spirit to develop its character over time.
On the nose, Sir Orrick’s opens with vanilla cream, honey and fresh orchard fruit, with notes of pear, green apple and lemon zest. The palate brings together vanilla, toffee, apple, pear and malt biscuit, followed by light oak spice and a creamy texture. The finish is short to medium, with vanilla, sweet grain, subtle pepper and a clean, dry oak character.
WELCOME TO THE KNIGHT’S CLUB
The evening began with guests receiving a symbolic Clover Key, marking their entry into The Knight’s Club and setting the tone for an experience built around discovery.
The evening unfolded through a series of whiskey and Irish-inspired experiences, bringing together storytelling, conversation, cocktails, food and playful moments. Guests discovered Sir Orrick’s through guided tastings and signature serves, while elements inspired by Irish culture and hospitality created the atmosphere of an evening spent in good company.
At the centre of the experience was Sir Orrick himself, the Knight of the Barrels, whose arrival formed part of the evening’s central reveal.
MEET SIR ORRICK
Adding an unexpected dose of wit to the evening, Cyrus Broacha stepped into the role of Sir Orrick, the Knight of the Barrels, bringing the character to life as the host of the brand’s first Indian chapter.
Known for his quick wit, irreverent humour and unmistakable personality, Broacha’s interpretation of Sir Orrick added a playful edge to the evening, bringing together the character’s Irish charm and the brand’s wry sense of humour.
Guests first encountered Sir Orrick through the evening’s rituals and experiences, before Broacha made his appearance as the Knight himself, leading into the unveiling of the Sir Orrick’s bottle and the collective “Sláinte!” that marked the whiskey’s official arrival in India.
A TOAST TO SIR ORRICK’S
The reveal led into an evening of celebration, with Irish dance, music, cocktails, whiskey, games and conversation continuing through the night. From an Irish-inspired gathering table to the brand’s playful take on whiskey through its Irish Whiskey Soft Serve, the experience brought together the different sides of Sir Orrick’s personality, its quiet strength, unhurried warmth and wry playfulness.
Rather than simply presenting a new whiskey, The Knight’s Club served as an introduction to the world around it, where discovery took its time, stories were shared over a drink and good company was as important as what was in the glass.
