Bhopal: The state government has announced a special cash package scheme of up to Rs 4 thousand for the state’s employees. Under the scheme, on purchase of goods or services up to Rs 12 thousand from the market, first and second class officers will get a special cash package of Rs 4 thousand, third class employees Rs 3 thousand and fourth class employees will get special cash package of Rs 2 thousand. The Special Cash Package Scheme will remain in force till 31 March 2021.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken the decision to implement this scheme with a view to activate economic activities in order to provide direct benefits to the employees and to increase consumer consumption in the scenario of Covid-19 disaster. In order to avail the benefits of the scheme, material or service will have to be purchased from registered GST vendor or service provider for 12 percent or more of the goods or services covered by GST. The payment for this must be made digitally. Officer-employees will have to apply to their head of the office ot their department for reimbursement under the scheme. Proof of payment and digital payment will have to be submitted for purchase of material / services in the application. According to the bill, one third of the gross amount purchased or up to the eligibility limit will be eligible for reimbursement. Submission of the claim for reimbursement to the Head of Office will be mandatory by April 30, 2021 under the scheme.
Decisions have been taken by the state government in the interests of regular government servants. Decision has also been taken earlier to pay 25 percent of the third installment of arrears of 7th pay scale to government servants and Rs. 10 thousand as advance to government servants who get a total salary of Rs 40 thousand or less under special festival package.
