Mangaldai : In commemoration with the celebration of 75th Independence Day, the 23 Bn SSB Lalpool has celebrated “Ajadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with different sports and other activities . The three day long celebration at its battalion campus close to Eastern border of Darrang and its field Coys along the Indo Bhutan international border. The celebration ended on August 12 last with the 10 km long Mini Marathon race . The celebration also featured football match and Yoga exercises among others.
The force personnel, the families and children of the personnel also registered their presence with great enthusiasm. Earlier in his inaugural address of the Mahotsav , Rohitashwa, Commandant 23 Bn SSB Lalpool said that, sports competitions at the unit increases confidence in the personnel and equally yoga is a boon to mankind for physical and mental development. He also informed that under the Amrit Mahotsav , a cycle rally is also going to be organized by Frontier Head Quarters SSB Tezpur, on August 25 next from Tezpur that will end on October 2 at Rajghat, New Delhi. SSB personnel from each unit and Sector Head Quarters (SHQ) under Frontier Tezpur are participating in the rally .
