Mangaldai : The winter sports meet -2020 of SSB , 37 Battalion (Bn) has begun in its battalion head quarters at Bezpara near here . The meet which aimed at the physical and mental development of the jawans of all the companies has been launched on Tuesday by Chance Keishing , DIG SHQ SSB Bezpara ceremonially by lighting ‘Diya’in presence of Joy Gopal Namasudra , Commanding Officer of SSB 37Bn, other senior officials of the said Bn besides senior officials of 23 Bn and 61 Bn of SSB . In his inaugural speech, DIG Keishing highlighted the importance of practicing games and sports by defence people . The meet which covers
various outdoor and indoor sporting events including Football , Volleyball, Cricket, Badminton , Tug-of –war in addition to athletics will continue till December 31 next . Altogether over one hundred jawans of seven different companies of the battalion have already confirmed their participation in the meet
Opening ceremony was also marked by presentation of traditional cultural programmes by different ethnic groups like Assamese , Boro , Nepali etc.
