Kolkata: Standard Chartered has opened two new Priority Banking Centres within its existing branches in Kolkata—at Churchlane and Salt Lake—reinforcing the Bank’s focus on growing its Affluent, Wealth, and SME businesses in India.
This move expands the Bank’s total number of Priority Banking Centres within existing branches across India to 24, and follows recent openings in Gurugram and Chennai. It also builds on the inauguration last August of the Bank’s largest branch in East India, located at 4 Little Russel Street, Kolkata.
Enhanced Client Proposition
The centres are designed to deliver an elevated, experience‑led banking environment that combines the Bank’s wealth expertise, local market insights, and the reach of its international network. The aim is to offer affluent clients a more holistic and differentiated proposition, deepening relationships across the client continuum.
India is a key market for Standard Chartered’s Wealth & Retail Banking business and a significant contributor to its SME Banking franchise.
