Haflong  : The student’s organisations of Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong like Dimasa Students Union, Hmar Students Association and Karbi Students Association opposed the government’s move to grant ST Hills status to Bodos and warned the government for strong agitation in near future.

This was disclosed by the KSA, HSA and DSU leaders in a press meet held at the office of the Dimasa Students’ Union at Haflong on Monday.

All the students’ leaders are of the opinion that both NCHAC and KAAC should move the government not to grant ST Hills status to Bodos. They also said that they are never against any community or any other aspects of development but oppose granting of ST Hills status to Bodos as this step of the government could jeopardise the social lives of the existing ST hills people.

They also appealed to the people of both Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong not to support the government move to granting ST hills status to Bodos.
