Terrorism is a grave threat to humanity: Naidu

New Delhi: Today is Anti-Terrorism Day and it is observed on 21st of May every year. The day is highly important for the nation as it has been a victim of terror attacks for several years. The objective behind the observance of this day is to wean away from the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence by highlighting the sufferings of common people and showing how it is prejudicial to the national interest.

Meanwhile, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said that terrorism is a grave threat to humanity and world peace. In a series of tweets today, he said, terrorism has adversely affected the lives of innumerable innocent people across the world.

Mr. Naidu paid tributes to the countless brave men and women who have made many sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He urged the countrymen to take resolve to eliminate the scourge of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also in a tweet today said that terrorism is the gravest threat to peace and prosperity.

Mr Sinha said, we should resolve to eliminate terrorism and its ecosystem on Anti-Terrorism Day today and reaffirm our strong commitment to uphold peace & harmony and defeat the forces of disruption threatening human lives.
