Pune : Bombay Dyeing, one of India’s most trusted home textile brands with a legacy of over 147 years, has issued a public advisory cautioning consumers against the sale of counterfeit products under the name ‘Coral Vine’. The brand has identified instances of unauthorised sellers offering these products in streets, shops and residential societies, allegedly using fake labels and falsely claiming an association with Bombay Dyeing.

According to the advisory issued by the company, ‘Coral Vine’ is no longer manufactured/sold by Bombay Dyeing, and the products currently being sold under this name by unauthorised entities are not genuine Bombay Dyeing products. The company has clarified that these sellers are not authorised to use its name or logo or claim any affiliation with the brand.

Bombay Dyeing has also raised concerns over the quality of such counterfeit products, stating that they are inferior to genuine Bombay Dyeing products and may pose potential health concerns (more particularly serious skin allergies) for consumers. The company has urged customers to remain cautious, particularly when purchasing products from temporary stalls, roadside vendors and unauthorised sellers offering unusually attractive deals.

As part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard consumers and protect the authenticity of its products, Bombay Dyeing has highlighted the following precautions:

How Consumers Can Identify Genuine Bombay Dyeing Products:

·         Verify the hologram: Always check for the official Bombay Dyeing hologram on the product to help verify its authenticity.

·         Purchase from authorised sellers: Buy Bombay Dyeing products only through authorised dealers and retailers. The details of such authorised dealers are available on the official website

·         https://retail.bombaydyeing.com/store-locator.

·         Be cautious of unauthorised sales: Bombay Dyeing does not authorise the sale of its products on footpaths, roads or in open markets.

·         Check brand identification: Consumers should be cautious of sellers using the Bombay Dyeing name or logo without proper authorisation.

·         Exercise caution with Coral Vine products: Bombay Dyeing has clarified that it no longer manufactures products under the ‘Coral Vine’ name.

The company has further stated that it is taking legal action against these unauthorised activities, including filing complaints with local authorities. It has also encouraged customers to report suspected counterfeit products or instances of unauthorised selling through its official communication channels.

With a heritage spanning more than 147 years, Bombay Dyeing continues to emphasise quality, authenticity and consumer trust. Through its ongoing anti-counterfeit initiatives, the brand reiterates its commitment to protecting customers from misleading sales practices and ensuring that they purchase genuine products through authorised channels.
