Military sources said that the Army unit deployed in the area has sent messages to the affiliated unit of the PLA on the hotline to convey their concerns about the alleged kidnapping.
The news of the kidnapping of five people from Arunachal Pradesh came at a time when the Indian Army extended its deployment along the 3,400 km Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh in view of the border dispute between the two countries. However, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has termed the incident of five civilians allegedly detained by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China as ‘unfortunate’ and ensured their early and safe release from the central and state government Is called to do.

AAPSU said that “the Center should stop looking at Arunachal only through the security prism and adopt a more inclusive mode of development which is at par with other Indian states. The Chinese Foreign Ministry once again called Arunachal Pradesh as its own, without refuting the allegations.
