Bengaluru: What happens when the intimacy of omakase meets the abundance of a sushi festival? This World Sushi Day, Shiro at UB City is inviting Bengaluru diners to find out. From 18th to 20th June 2026, the city’s pioneering Pan-Asian restaurant will host an immersive, omakase-inspired sushi experience where guests can surrender the decision-making to the chef, watch every roll take shape at a dedicated live sushi counter, and enjoy unlimited access to a curated selection of Shiro’s signature sushi creations for INR 1,500 all-inclusive per person.
At the centre of Shiro’s World Sushi Day celebration is the philosophy of omakase, a style of dining that places the experience firmly in the chef’s hands. Rather than navigating a menu, guests are invited to surrender to the rhythm of the counter, allowing the chef to guide them through a selection of sushi that showcases technique, balance, and craftsmanship. It’s a fitting tribute for a restaurant that has spent more than two decades introducing Bengaluru to Japanese cuisine, long before sushi became a fixture of the city’s dining culture.
Curated by Chef Priyank Singh Chouhan, Culinary Director at JSM Corporation, the menu draws from some of Shiro’s most-loved sushi creations while embracing the spirit of chef-led dining. Bringing that philosophy to life is a dedicated live sushi counter, where every element of the meal unfolds in full view. Guests can watch fish being sliced, rice being shaped, and rolls assembled with the precision that defines great sushi. Throughout the festival, guests can discover signatures such as Crispy Spicy Avocado Maki, Chilli Pepper Maki, Vegetarian Spicy California Kappa, Miso Ceviche Maki, Katsu Chicken Maki, Teriyaki Chicken Maki, Spicy Tuna Maki, Tuna Sushi, and Red Snapper Sushi, alongside a rotating selection of chef-chosen favourites served across the three-day celebration.
For many Bengaluru diners, Shiro was where their sushi journey began. This World Sushi Day, the restaurant revisits that legacy through an experience that goes beyond simply serving sushi, bringing guests closer to the craft, discipline, and traditions that shape it. Whether you’re returning to familiar favourites or discovering them for the first time, the festival offers a fresh way to experience one of Japan’s most celebrated culinary traditions.
