Two Arunachal Mishmi youths go missing from Chaglagam on LAC near India-China border

GUWAHATI : Two Mishmi youths from Chaglagam area of Arunachal Pradesh have been reported missing since August 24, when they had gone to collect medicinal herbs on the hills near the India-China border. The youths have been identified as Bingso Manu and Batelam Tikro, residents of Chaglagam area of Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh India-China border near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Batellum Tikro and Beingso Manu had left for Chaglagam in Anjaw area on August 19, but their relatives did not report their disappearance until October 12, when they did not return home. Both the youths are residents of Goiliang town in the district.

With the help of security forces, the families of both searched, but no clue was found. Locals had last seen the duo on August 24 in the area where the search was concentrated. Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched by the security forces and it is suspected that the two may have been kidnapped. Additionally, the families requested assistance from the Army, state administration and the Centre to trace the two missing persons.
