In a remarkable step toward enabling rural transformation, Vyomini Social Enterprise hosted a certification distribution and ‘Pratibha Samman’ event to honor 2000 rural girls who have successfully completed skill development and employability training.

Implemented in two impactful phases since 2023 in the aspirational district of Bahraich, the program has trained girls in key areas such as communication skills, English speaking, personality development, digital literacy, cybercrime awareness, dress designing, and web designing. The curriculum also integrated menstrual hygiene awareness and the free distribution of sanitary napkins reflecting Vyomini’s commitment to holistic empowerment.

Speaking at the occasion, Prachi Kaushik, Founder and Director, Vyomini Social Enterprise said, “The transformation we’re witnessing in Bahraich is deeply personal and powerful. These 2000 girls represent the resilience, potential, and dreams of rural India. When we initiated the training program, our aim wasn’t just to provide vocational training but it was to build self-belief. With communication and digital literacy skills, a girl who was once hesitant to speak can now confidently walk into an interview or operate a small business. What makes this program unique is its community-centric approach: menstrual health, cultural expression, digital awareness — every element was designed keeping the girl child at the center. With continued partnerships and support from local leadership, we envision every village becoming a hub of skilled, confident, and self-reliant young women.

Supported by the Shipping Corporation of India and the Nitcoin Foundation, the program has built confidence among young rural women, enabling them to seek jobs in urban centers, face interviews effectively, and adapt to a digital-first economy.

The certification event was graced by local leadership including Goan Deeha Panchayat’s Pradhan, Block Development Officers, and dignitaries such as Prachi Kaushik and Shivalika Mishra. Cultural performances, dance, and storytelling showcased the talents of the women trained under the program.

The community expressed strong support for the initiative. Local women and Anganwadi workers acknowledged the positive impact of sewing and computer training centers in villages, which empower girls without compromising their safety or dignity.

The Pradhan of Chitora village praised Vyomini’s efforts and emphasized the need to replicate such programs across every panchayat to ensure girls are skilled, independent, and equipped to face the challenges of education and employment within their own communities.
