Warm welcome to Olympic Medallist Lovlina

GUWAHATI : Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist boxer Lavlina Borgohen arrived in Golaghat in her hometown Assam yesterday. He was accorded a warm welcome on arrival here. The atmosphere was very emotional when Lovlina Borgohen reached home. As soon as he reached here, he hugged his mother. Lovlina’s two older twin sisters were standing outside the house to welcome them. As soon as they reached there, the three sisters hugged each other. People outside the house welcomed him in a grand manner. Tell me, Lovlina’s corona report came positive last year. His mother Mamoni Borgohen also underwent a kidney transplant last year. After which she met her mother for the first time yesterday after almost a year. Lovlina has come home for a day and will leave today to attend different receptions.”She’s come home after about a year,” said Lovlina’s father, Tiken Borgohen. These are very special moments for us.

Though she has come for a very short time, she will return home for a long time after August 25. ” When Lavlina Borgohen reached Dimapur airport yesterday afternoon, a large number of people from Golaghat were present to welcome her. BJP MLA Biswajit Phukan, district deputy commissioner and superintendent of police were also present to welcome him. On the 55 km route from Dimapur airport to his house, people were seen clapping and welcoming him on both sides. Lavlina Barpathar first attended a reception held at Higher Secondary School. Assam Government Ministers Ajanta Neog and Atul Bora felicitated Unlo at the event. Speaking on the occasion, Lovleena thanked the people for her grand welcome and said that she will work harder in the future to bring glory to her country and state.
