India’s economy is growing faster, and without a doubt, infrastructure development has been the backbone of this growth for the past decade. Recent data from IMARC Group states that India’s high-rise building construction market size reached USD 241.5 billion in 2025. It is expected to reach USD 491.1 billion by 2034, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 7.96% during 2026-2034. Mumbai remains the vertical capital of India with over 300 skyscrapers and approximately 5,600 high-rise buildings within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, followed by emerging high-rise corridors in Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, and Bengaluru. At such a rapid pace, what occupants, commercial complexes, schools, and hospitals are looking at is not the modern architecture or facilities but the right planning and execution of evacuation spaces during emergencies. Every year, we witness people struggling on higher floors due to deficiencies in evacuation systems, especially during fire emergencies.
