Kokrajhar: The World AIDS Day was organised in Kokrajhar with various awareness programme among the public today.
The Health Department, Kokrajhar organized the World AIDS day at Dotma Block Public Health Centre where a meeting was held.
The meeting presided over by Dr. Anil Mohilary, Incharge of Dotma Block PHC was attended by Dr. Anubha Das, Chief Medical Officer, Kokrajhar, Dr. Kaushik Das, District AIDS Control Officer, Kokrajhar, Dr. Balaram Barman of Dotma PHC, NTEP Staff, Kokrajhar and ASHA workers.
Jwngma Brahma Senior Treatment Supervisor, NTEP gave the introduction and explained the purpose of the meeting. Dr. Kaushik Das stressed on awareness on HIV among the ASHA workers on the theme of the year 2020- GLOBAL SOLIDARITY SHARES RESPONSIBILITY. He also stressed on safe sex save life and stressed on condom promotion to prevent AIDS and urged the young generation to keep away from Intravenous Drug use which is major cause of spreading HIV.
