Assam CM directs the GM to take up the compensation issue immediately with Railway board for early solution

Haflong  : A joint meeting convened by Assam Government involving N F railway officials and affected people of Dima Hasao at Janata Bhawan on Monday.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister; Government of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal to discuss the long pending demand of BG conversion affected Compensation. In the meeting CM directed the General Manager (Construction) NF Railway to immediately clear all the necessary compensation as agreed by them.

He also said that it was the duty of the Railway to find out under which rule the payment would be made as they have already agreed and paid Zerrat value. He informed the Railway not to play with the life of the hills people as they are peace loving people. He clearly said to the Railway that he would not allow his people to suffer. CM directed the GM to immediately take up the compensation issue to Railway board for early solution. He also directed the Home Commissioner, Govt of Assam to make the entire necessary correspondent with the Railway GM on behalf of the affected people.  CM assured to them that he would do everything for his people, and told not to worry anymore as he would personally take up the matters to the Railway Board and ministry.
