The Zemes are one of the hill tribes of Dima Hasao (N C Hills) Assam. They are humble quiet and peace loving tribe and prefer to lead a life of contentment.
Like the other hill tribes of Assam, they have their own identity through their language, custom, traditional dresses, ornaments, dances, folktales etc. But due to lack of written literature, this identity is gradually eroding. Sri Igianeing Daime, former MAC and social activists took the pain to bring out this book which would truly be a treasure for not only the Zemes but also for all readers as well.
This book was published by Sri Pauramduing Zeme, Cultural Development Officer, Cultural Centre, Haflong.
