Brazilian Legends to Light Up Kochi: Brazil Legends vs Indian All Stars Football Match on September 20

Kochi: Football fans in Kerala are set for a spectacular sporting event as Kochi gears up to host the much-awaited international football match between the Brazil Legends and the Indian All Stars on September 20 at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi.

The match will feature several members of Brazil’s iconic football generation, including stars from the country’s victorious 2002 FIFA World Cup squad. The official ticket launch was inaugurated by Minister for Fisheries and Social Justice, V. E. Abdul Gafoor, at a function held at the Le Meridien Hotel, Kochi.

Adding to the excitement, global football icons Ronaldinho and Rivaldo are expected to be part of the Brazil Legends squad. The Brazilian team also includes renowned former internationals such as Edmilson, Paulo Sergio, Giovanni, Junior, Viola, Gomes (goalkeeper), Amaral, Gustavo Nery, Ricardo Oliveira, Jorginho, Camanducaia, Elivelton, Souza, Para and Diogo. The Indian All Stars team will feature some of the most celebrated names in Indian football, including I.M. Vijayan, C.K. Vineeth, Jo Paul Ancheri and K.T. Chacko, among others.

The event is being jointly organised by Gammen World Sports Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., A2Z Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. and A Saba Dos Initiative. The match is part of an international tour featuring former Brazilian football stars and will be staged across five major cities; Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Dubai. Kochi will host the second fixture of the tour.

Organisers noted that the opening match in Chennai received an overwhelming response from football enthusiasts, setting the stage for another memorable encounter in Kochi. Among those present at the ticket launch were Hibi Eden MP, T.J. Vinod MLA, Kochi Corporation Public Works Standing Committee Chairman T.K. Ashraf, Gammen World Sports CEO A. Rajesh and other dignitaries.
