Chief Minister Shri Chouhan pays tribute to Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary

Bhopal:  Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid homage to Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan garlanded his portrait in the auditorium at his residence.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has tweeted on his anniversary that, “Tremendous respects to brave son Bhagat Singh on his anniversary who ignited a new fire in the hearts of all countrymen with his brilliant thinking and the spirit of patriotism. Bhagat Singh will live on in our hearts for ages with his heroic ideas and works.”

Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh is considered one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian national movement. Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 in Banga, Lyallpur district of undivided India. His family was a supporter of the Ghadar Party. Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh studied up to 5th standard in the village and after that his father Kishan Singh got him enrolled in Dayanand Anglo Vedic High School, Lahore. At a very young age, Bhagat Singh joined the non-cooperation movement and bravely challenged the British army. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre had a deep impact on Bhagat Singh’s mind. Bhagat Singh along with Chandrashekhar Azad formed a revolutionary organisation. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were sentenced to death in the Lahore Conspiracy Case and Batukeshwar Dutt was given life imprisonment. Bhagat Singh was hanged along with Sukhdev and Rajguru at 7 pm on March 23, 1931. All three happily sacrificed their lives for the country. Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh was also a good speaker, reader and writer. He also wrote and edited for several magazines. MP Khargone Shri Gajendra Singh Patel, former minister Shri Om Prakash Dhurve, former MLA Shri Kal Singh Bhabar and Shri Bhagat Singh Netam also offered garlands on the portrait of Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh at the Chief Minister’s residence.
