GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday came out strongly in favour of a ‘hijab ban’, saying colleges and schools are for education and there should be a uniform code for all students. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing a rally in Uttarakhand today, said colleges and schools are “not meant for fashion shows”. Sarma said, Congress does not want Muslim girls to become doctors and engineers by reading and writing. They want everyone to be stuck in hijab. “Appeasement is in the DNA of the Congress. The Congress party has the blood of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It has worked relentlessly to please Muslims to get their votes. But instead of working for their progress, the party wants Muslims to remain backward and hence are promoting madrasas and hijabs,” Biswa Sarma has said

It is the Congress lawyers who take the hijab case to the court. The BJP is working under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the country a Vishwa Guru. The Congress knows that if all the educated have become self-reliant, they will question their scams and wrongdoings. She wants to keep everyone involved in such unnecessary issues. Who doesn’t know whether it is necessary to get an education inside the school-class or the hijab at present. For these reasons, the college was closed for three days. There were incidents leading up to stone pelting. The case has now been taken to court. On Friday, CM Himanta reached Kichha to hold a meeting at party candidate Rajesh Shukla. He said that by ruling the country for 60 years, the Congress only did the politics of appeasement.

Thousands of madarsas opened in Assam. Colleges and schools are not made for fashion shows. Putting everyone in the grip of hijab, the Congress wants muslim girls not to become engineers and doctors. The country will go beyond education and not the politics of appeasement. Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat is in the fray with the dream of giving a Muslim university to Devbhoomi. In Uttarakhand, the BJP has fielded large-scale fire brand star campaigners. The BJP is leading the way in its election campaign strategy. Today, along with PM Modi, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam CM, popularly known as Mama, are on a visit to Kumaon. The BJP has thrown its full might ahead of the february 14 polling. In the last one month, several government educational institutions in India’s Karnataka state have banned Muslim women students from wearing hijabs or headscarves. The Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government passed a directive last week supporting the discriminatory ban, saying , “Should not be worn clothes that disturb equality, integrity and public law and order.” Chief Justice of India N V Ramana on Friday said in response to a request for urgent listing of petitions challenging the hijab ban in Karnataka’s colleges that the Supreme Court will look into the issue at an “appropriate time” as the Karnataka High Court has taken up the matter for hearing.
