Corona prevention measures through public awareness and support must: CM Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, Corona virus infection has increased in the country and the state in the last few days. In a few cities it has spread more. Chief Minister  Chouhan issued instructions to prevent infection by generating awareness among the general public and through public support by adopting all preventive measures.

Chief Minister  Chouhan reviewed the status of Corona infection. Chief Secretary  Iqbal Singh Bains, Health Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Goyal and officers were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that the officer in-charge of the district and the district administration should ensure all measures for prevention by seeking public assistance in the districts in which Corona infection rate is higher than normal. The public should be encouraged to come forward and use masks, adhere to social distancing, not open shop till late at night, prevent crowd and impose public curfew. District Crisis Management Group play an effective role.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that the decisions of the meetings of the Disaster Management Committee have been received by the state government. Permission is being given after consideration. Efforts should be made to make district-level disaster management groups effective and strong to end the Corona infection.

Collectors should uninterrupted transportation of essential goods

Chief Minister  Chouhan directed that collectors should ensure that markets and localities should not be closed unnecessarily. Decision to close down should be taken only where necessary. In the event of closure of the market, it should be ensured that transportation of essential commodities, fruits, milk, vegetables, etc. is not prohibited. This work should go on uninterrupted, people should not have problems. Chief Minister  Chouhan sought information from the collectors of districts with high infection rates of the measures adopted by them to prevent infection.

Collectors told that the markets were crowded due to festivals. Due to this, there was a spurt in Corona cases. The rate of hike in Corona infection is different in different districts of the state. But the rate is higher in Indore, Bhopal, Vidisha, Ratlam, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia, Ashoknagar and Dhar districts. Chief Minister  Chouhan has asked the administration, public representatives and general public in these districts to resolve to follow the Covid guideline seriously and impose necessary restrictions.

Roko-Toko innovation is commendable, it is good for infection control

 Chief Minister  Chouhan said that innovations have been made to prevent infection in some districts. The Ujjain Collector has launched the Roko-Toko campaign to generate public awareness towards the importance of masks, to facilitate control of infection. Dhar Collector has also received voluntary cooperation from industrialists and businessmen. The system of night curfew in the name of Janata curfew is commendable. Chief Minister  Chouhan said that if the public remains alert, the cases will not increase.

People residing in urban areas need to be more alert

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that 85 percent of the new Corona cases in the state have cropped up in urban areas and 15 percent in rural areas. The urban areas are more crowded. Hence, there is a greater need to adhere to social distancing in cities.

Chief Minister  Chouhan appealed to the youth not to be careless. He said that all measures should be taken to prevent Corona because the percentage of youngsters among the total number of Corona patients is higher. The elderly are taking precautions therefore their percentage is 10.

It was informed in the meeting that among the new cases, 69 percent are men and 31 percent are women. Women are following Covid guidelines with more vigilance. Chief Minister  Chouhan appealed that the life and health of every citizen of the state is priceless. Therefore, it is very important to adopt preventive measures till there is no medicine and vaccine. No carelessness and laxity should be allowed. All citizens should wear masks, keep safe distance among themselves. People should avoid crowding places.
