Election trends: BJP leading in West Bengal, Assam, NDA in Puducherry; TVK in Tamil Nadu; Congress in Keralam

Initial trends that emerged in the counting of votes for all four states and Puducherry Union territory have sustained as counting rounds progress into the day.

As per latest counting, BJP has taken a surprise lead in West Bengal while, in Tamil Nadu new entrant Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) led by actor C. Joseph Vijay has surged ahead, opposition AIADMK is in second position and the state’s ruling DMK is trailing at third spot.

In Keralam, Congress led UDF has secured a comfortable lead, while the ruling BJP has secured a big lead in Assam.

In West Bengal BJP has taken lead in 192 seats out of all the 293 constituencies for which counting of ballots has been taken up today. Ruling Trinamool Congress is leading in 94 seats.

In Tamil Nadu trends are available for all 234 seats; New entrant Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) led by actor C. Joseph Vijay has made a grand debut, leading in 112 seats. Opposition AIADMK is in second position with leads in 58 constituencies. Ruling DMK is trailing at third position with leads in 47 seats. PMK is leading in 05 seats while, Congress is ahead in 04 seats.

In Assam, trends and results are available for all 126 constituencies. Results of 07 constituencies have been declared, BJP has won 06 seats and is leading in another 73 seats while its ally AGP has won 01 seat and leading in 08 seats. Congress is leading in 24 seats, Bodoland People’s Front in 10 seats.

In Keralam trends and results are available for all 140 seats. Congress has won 06 seats and leading in 55 constituencies, State’s ruling CPM has won 04 seats and is ahead in 23 seats, and its ally CPI is leading in 09 seats, RSP 03. Kerala Congress is leading in 07, and BJP in 02 seats.

Results have also come in from Puducherry; out of 13 results declared, ruling AINRC has won 08 seats and is leading in 01 seats. Congress has won 01 seat and is ahead in 06 seats. DMK has won 01 seat and is leading in 03 seats, BJP has won 02 seats and is leading in 02, AIADMK has won 01 seat and Independents have won 02 seats and leading in 01 seat.
