GUWAHATI : First phase of polling in Assam is over. A big question arises whether Modi’s spell will run in Assam assembly elections this time? Will BJP return to Assam assembly? According to the ground report, Modi’s spell will practically not run in Assam this time.  In Phase 1 a  total of 264 candidates contested in 47 constituencies.
BJP’s electoral strategy in the assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam is being around Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP is giving primacy to the prime minister’s face and the functioning of the Centre over the functioning of the state leadership in both the states. The party is trying to convince the people on the issue of infiltration and Bangladeshis that the problem will be solved when the government is formed in the state with the centre. Campaigning is at its peak in Assam and West Bengal. The BJP’s strategy is now becoming fully booth-based, including bringing voters to the polling booth and turning them in their favour. The party’s effort is to win the trust of the people by placing elections around the prime minister.

The BJP believes that there is confidence in the public about Modi’s image and functioning and will benefit from it. Assam has a BJP government and has also prominently kept its five-year work. But on the issue of the revised Citizenship Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the state Government is not coming directly to the people through the centre and Prime Minister Modi. He is assuring the people that the problem will be solved by the Modi government. According to sources, BJP is getting a strong challenge in Assam this time. One is a direct competition from the opposition alliance. On the other hand, there is confusion among the public about the CAA and the NRC. In Assam, the assembly elections are important candidates for Phase I. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal from Majuli constituency, BJP, Jorhat, BJP to Assam Assembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami, BJP minister Ranjit Dutta, Dhakuakhana to Minister Naba Kumar Doli, BJP, Tinsukia to Sanjay Kishan, BJP, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president and minister Atul Bora Bokakhat to Kalibor, Minister Keshav Mahant from Kalibor, Agp, Gohpur to APCC President Repun Bora, Congress , Nazira, leader of opposition from Congress, Devrata Saikia. etc. Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said in Guwahati today that in the meantime, if the BJP is voted in Assam, road projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore will be completed.

In a press conference, Gadkari said the senior BJP leader here did not believe that Assam would be one of the top states in the country if the Saffron party has been re-elected for the second term. “During our tenure, roads worth Rs 30,000 crore have been completed in Assam. 50,000 crore has been sanctioned for roads. Currently, work is underway for road projects worth Rs 35,000 crore. Addressing the press conference, Gadkari said that in Kashmir, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee has sacrificed for the security unity and integrity of the country. We are not against any religion. National security is paramount for the BJP. That is why, till today, the BJP has not compromised security with anybody till today. There is no question of doing it in future. There is a similar special fury in our party and the Congress. The Congress has entered into an agreement with the integrity of the country. The Congress can do anything for the vote bank. The Congress has surrendered the policy of vote bank policies in the country’s security policy.
