GUWAHATI : The First Lady of Assam Prem Mukhi along with Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated a Banquet Hall in Raj Bhavan today. A banquet hall was a long felt need for Raj Bhavan, Assam to host dignitaries of national and international eminence. Speaking at the inaugural function, the Governor termed the occasion as a proud moment for Raj Bhavan to have owned a banquet hall in its premises. He said that there was a need for a standard and a permanent banquet hall in the Raj Bhavan.
He also lauded the hard work of the PWD for having completed the construction especially during the pandemic time. He also hailed the work of the architect Manas Kagti for his beautiful design that reflected on the banquet hall. Expressing her feeling the First Lady of Assam Prem Mukhi said that she felt happy to have been a part of the inauguration of the banquet hall. Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S.Meenakshi Sundaram, Commissioner and Secretary, PWD Raj Chakraborty, Chief Engineer PWD Gautam Sarkar along with the officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan and PWD were also present during the inaugural function.
