Guwahathi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said that no anti-India terrorist outfit will be allowed to stay in Bangladesh. He said he has started an inquiry against it. The North East remains home to terrorist groups in Bangladesh. Several militant outfits from Assam, Manipur, Nagaland in north-east India were running anti-India operations in Bangladesh. Denying this, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that we have a friendship with India and friendship will always be there. In a statement on behalf of the Home Ministry in Guwahati today, it was said that a digital summit between India and Bangladesh has been held today.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the digital summit at the conference. The rail link between India and Bangladesh was inaugurated after 55 years during the conference. The Prime Minister of both the countries delivered his address. In his address, PM Modi said that Bangladesh is an important pillar of our neighbourhood first policy, while Sheikh Hasina appreciated India’s cooperation. During the Indo-Bangladesh virtual summit, PM Narendra Modi and Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated the Chilhati-Haldibari rail link between India and Bangladesh. A railway line has been inaugurated between India and Bangladesh after 55 years. The two sides have been a stickler for reviving and operating six rail links between India and Bangladesh before 1965. With the inauguration of Haldibari-Chilahati rail link, five out of six rail links are currently operational.

The other four operational rail links connecting West Bengal with Bangladesh are Petrapol (India)-Benapol (Bangladesh), Gede (India-Darshan) Bangladesh), Singhabad (India)-Rohanpur (Bangladesh) and Radhikapur (India)-Birol (Bangladesh). During the Indo-Bangladesh virtual summit, PM Narendra Modi and Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina also released a commemorative postage stamp on Sheikh Muzaffar Salman. The Digital Summit was addressed by the Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh. In the meantime, PM Modi said bangladesh is an important pillar of our neighbourhood first policy.

He said that strengthening relations with Bangladesh is a priority for me from the first day, while Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said during the virtual summit with PM Modi that I should appreciate you for the way your (India) government has fought the Kovid-19. Meanwhile, on the Indo-Bangladesh Virtual Summit, a statement from the Home Ministry in Guwahati today said that Bangladesh terrorist outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh is carrying out its terrorist activities in West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland in the north-east. Speaking on the occasion, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said, “If Bangladesh is home to North East terrorist groups” Bangladesh will never tolerate it. In the meantime, PM Modi said that India and Bangladesh have had good cooperation in the Corona period, both will continue to cooperate in vaccine work. PM Modi spoke that the two countries are insisting on connectivity, which shows our friendship. Sheikh Hasina said that during the Corona period, the two countries have come closer, and the bilateral relations between the two peoples have also been strengthened. The two countries have launched several new connectivity works this year.

In the meantime, PM Modi said that it is a matter of pride for me to release the digital exhibition of Mahatma Gandhi and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They will continue to inspire our youth. Sheikh Hasina Remembers 1971 War ** In his address, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina said that both India and Bangladesh are celebrating Vijay Diwas. Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the Indian jawans who were martyred in the 1971 war. He said that I pay deep tributes to the 30 lakh martyrs who have put their lives. I pay homage to the members of the Indian Armed Forces who were martyred in the 1971 war. I express my gratitude to the Government and people of India who have wholeheartedly supported our liberation. Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh is on the verge of celebrating 50 years as an independent nation. On March 26, 2021, your (PM Modi) visit to Dhaka will be a glorious glory of our joint commemoration of the Bangladesh Liberation War 1971. On the occasion of the completion of 49 years of Bangladesh’s separation from Pakistan on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that people of all religions and caste in Bangladesh have equal rights.
