In Assam priority for second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

GUWAHATI :The Assam government has said that it will give top priority to beneficiaries who are to be given second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Assam Health Minister Keshav Mahanta informed that instructions have been issued to deputy commissioners of all districts of the state to give priority to second dose of vaccination. Mahanta said “priority should be given to those queuing up at vaccination centres for second dose so that the schedule can be maintained.”

 The DC has been instructed in respect of the same, “. In Assam, more than 20 people have been fully vaccinated, while another 95,23,851 have received their first dose. Assam Health Minister Keshav Mahanta further said that the state currently has 12 lakh vaccine dose reserves. “We have administered up to 3.5 lakh doses in a single day. We have the capacity to provide five lakh doses per day. But it depends on supply.
